We are bookending your week, every week with a couple of podcast episodes that we hope can provide insights on how to be a better marketer, sales pro, or operator in your B2B company.
Are you the type of modern day marketer who likes to create new roles that don’t even exist yet?
There’s more opportunity than ever with the rise of the individual creator. Content is the catalyst for new role creation and there have been a ton of awesome stories popping up in B2B that I wanted to shine a light on.
Make you sure you check out the conversation that I had with Nick Bennett who shares the process that he went through to create his new role at Alyce. He uses an amazing combination of data and brand building to tell the story of how he pitched his team and shares his goals.
Last week was board meeting week at The Juice. I had a chance to go out to lunch with our two founders about an hour before the meeting and learned a lot about their mindset going into these meetings. I thought it would be interesting to create an episode less than 24 hours later to source Jonathan about his process around these meetings as a first time founder and CEO.
I couldn’t stop thinking about the importance of feedback and what to do with it after we got done recording. I learned that receiving, filtering, and incorporating feedback is an essential part of being a CEO. It’s not always easy, but a great leader makes their team feel heard and is able to clearly communicate priorities.
In this episode we cover:
- Filtering feedback: How to synthesize everyone’s opinions and request and prioritize follow up around it
- Non-action items: How to explore topics that do not have clear next steps
- Communicating back to the team: Why it’s important to create a feedback loop from the boardroom to team meetings
